These talented individuals – Yanya Cheng, Valeria Pulici, Traiceline Pratt, and Finlay Vincent Roberts – were tasked with pushing the boundaries of the 1460 boot, crafting full head-to-toe looks that captured the brand’s rebellious spirit. Their diverse approaches showcase the boundless potential of this footwear icon, proving it’s more than just a boot; it’s a platform for personal expression and artistic exploration.

Yanya Cheng‘s future-focused vision translates into intricate womenswear designs, featuring layered fabrics and a “boldly futurist” tone. Her interactive approach to clothing empowers the wearer, with her reimagined 1460 boot featuring her signature “adjustable cording” technique, allowing for personalization and individual style.

Valeria Pulici, a skilled print designer, champions sustainability and craftsmanship. Her 1460 reinterpretation reflects this ethos, drawing inspiration from workwear styles and utilizing recycled and bioplastic materials. The result: a boot that’s not just stylish, but also environmentally conscious and built to last.

Traiceline Pratt‘s larger-than-life silhouettes distort the body, creating womenswear that’s both sculptural and eye-catching. Inspired by his Bahamian upbringing, his design reflects the unique individuals and environments of his childhood, bringing a personal touch to the reimagined 1460.

Finlay Vincent Roberts, known for his modular-focused menswear label SYSTEM, approaches the 1460 with innovation. His design deconstructs the classic boot, transforming a 3-eye shoe into an 8-eye 1460 with over 20 interchangeable components. This modularity speaks to the ever-evolving nature of fashion and personal style.

These four winning designs celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martens while pushing the boundaries of footwear design. Through this collaboration, Dr. Martens supports emerging talent and actively fostering the future of fashion, ensuring the 1460 boot remains a symbol of self-expression for generations to come.
