adidas introduces its latest innovation: CODECHAOS 25. This new model is set to challenge the conventional meaning and mentality behind spikeless performance, boasting a redesigned outsole and upper that promises to deliver an enhanced feeling of traction and stability. The CODECHAOS 25 BOA model leads the pack, with a laced version also available for men and women, set to hit shelves worldwide on August 1.
Masun Denison, global footwear director at adidas Golf, reflects on the brand’s bold move to introduce CODECHAOS nearly five years ago, “The impact this footwear had then and continues to have now is another proof point for us that golfers are continuing to look for spikeless performance in athletic and non-traditional silhouettes.” This latest iteration, CODECHAOS 25, represents a significant milestone in the brand’s pursuit of innovation, particularly during a time when golf has experienced tremendous growth and participation.
So, what sets CODECHAOS 25 apart from its predecessors and other spikeless footwear in the market? The answer lies in its updated performance components. The redesigned outsole features a new 3D TORSION plate, designed to provide golfers with stability during their swing and as they walk the course. This innovative technology also helps minimize midfoot bend, reducing internal heel slip. The iconic TWISTGRIP outsole has also been revamped, with a new lug shape covering a greater surface area, resulting in up to 40% increase in traction-providing elements.
To further enhance the shoe’s performance, adidas collaborated with engineers at BOA to incorporate PerformFit Wrap powered by the BOA Fit System in the BOA model of CODECHAOS 25. This feature offers golfers a locked-in feel with additional stability, perfect for those seeking a secure fit during their game.
Comfort is also a top priority for golfers, and adidas has addressed this need by creating a new hybrid midsole featuring both BOOST and LIGHTSTRIKE technologies. While BOOST focuses on energy return and cradling the foot, LIGHTSTRIKE adds stability and comfort when golfers swing. This combination is ideal for golfers seeking both comfort and stability on the course.
The upper of CODECHAOS 25 boasts a durable, multi-layer knit design, providing golfers with additional flexibility. The bottom layer features a soft, moisture-wicking material to increase comfort, while the middle layer, a dynamic jacquard, offers flexibility and adaptability. The outer layer is a sporty mesh that enhances the layers beneath, and a transparent PU film provides waterproof protection.
The adidas CODECHAOS 25 will be available for purchase starting August 1st on adidas.com, the adidas app, and at select retailers worldwide. The shoe comes in both BOA and lace closure options for men and women, along with a junior model inspired by the design. Availability may vary by region, with the laced version launching in Canada on October 15th (exclusively on adidas.com), November 1st in the US, and already available in Japan.
