The iconic adidas Samba continues to evolve, drawing inspiration from the brand’s rich heritage to deliver fresh, eye-catching designs for sneaker enthusiasts. As spring approaches, the Three Stripes Brand is set to release a new iteration of the Samba that pays homage to an obscure gem from the archives: the adidas Tischtennis.
Last month, the adidas Tischtennis, a 1970s tennis shoe, resurfaced, paving the way for its influence on the latest Samba designs. The Tischtennis’s signature open mesh base has been cleverly adapted into the Samba’s construction, creating a thematic link between the two models. However, the adidas Samba differentiates itself by incorporating an additional layer beneath the mesh overlays, striking a balance between the Tischtennis’s breathability and the Samba’s classic structure.
The standout colorway in this release features a tan mesh upper, accented by vibrant “Preloved Red” details, all sitting atop a timeless gum sole. This combination creates a visually striking and nostalgic aesthetic that is sure to resonate with Samba fans and sneaker collectors alike. Alongside this eye-catching variation, adidas also offers a fully brown version of the same design theme, catering to those who prefer a more subdued, monochromatic look.
Both pairs are set to release on April 1st at adidas.com, with a slightly elevated price tag of $120 compared to the Samba’s usual $100 price point. This minor increase is a testament to the premium materials and craftsmanship that have gone into creating these unique Samba iterations.
