The Nike KD 17 “Penny” is set to make waves in the sneaker world, taking inspiration from the iconic Air Max Penny and its debut “Orlando Magic” colorway. As Kevin Durant’s season comes to a close, his latest signature shoe keeps him in the spotlight with its unique design themes and attention to detail.
The KD 17 “Penny” effortlessly blends elements of the Air Max Penny to create a nostalgic yet fresh take on a classic. The upper features a bold blue and black colorway, reminiscent of the original “Orlando Magic” colorway. TPU overlays, similar to those found on the Air Max Plus, showcase a mesmerizing blue to black gradient from top to bottom, adding depth and dimension to the design.
What sets the KD 17 “Penny” apart are the cracked swoosh logos on the medial sides, a clear nod to the Air Max Penny’s signature style. This subtle yet impactful detail pays homage to the legacy of Penny Hardaway and his influential signature line.
The base of the shoe keeps things clean and simple, utilizing white leather and mesh for a crisp and timeless look. The black sock lining provides a sleek contrast, while the soft baby blue outsole adds a pop of color and seamlessly ties the design together.
This second colorway of Durant’s Nike KD 17 is slated for a May 24th release and will be available for $150 through Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
