Nike Trail celebrates a decade of providing trail running enthusiasts with cutting-edge footwear with the launch of the Nike Kiger 10 and Nike ReactX Wildhorse 10. Designed for both experienced athletes and newcomers to the sport, these new models showcase Nike’s commitment to innovation and performance in the ever-evolving world of trail running. Launched in 2014, the Nike Trail franchise combines road running technology with off-road innovation to create a line of footwear designed specifically for the unique demands of trail running.
The Nike Kiger 10, recognized as one of Nike’s lightest and most minimalist trail shoes, is designed for trail races under 50 kilometers. For the first time, the Kiger features a Vibram Megagrip outsole with a multidirectional 3.5mm lug design that provides superior traction and durability, especially in the forefoot and heel. This innovative design provides runners with exceptional grip and braking power, even on wet and challenging terrain. A protective forefoot rockshield and responsive Cushlon 3.0 midsole provide additional protection and support for a comfortable and confident run. The shoe’s upper features a sleek leno weave construction that provides targeted durability, breathability and support. This design prioritizes both performance and protection, while providing excellent drainage for wet conditions. A soft collar and secure heel pocket further enhance comfort and stability by keeping the foot securely in place.
The ReactX Wildhorse 10, on the other hand, joins the Zegama 2 in Nike Trail’s rugged off-road category. Designed with an emphasis on traction, cushioning and containment, the Wildhorse 10 is versatile enough for a variety of trail running experiences, from short training runs to challenging 100-kilometer races. This updated model features a 3mm increase in stack height, a forefoot rockshield, and improved toe protection, all while being 35 grams lighter than its predecessor. The shoe’s ReactX foam midsole provides a remarkable 13% increase in energy return while reducing the carbon footprint by at least 43% compared to standard Nike React foam. The durable All-Terrain Compound outsole with 4mm lugs provides exceptional grip and durability on a variety of trail conditions.
The Kiger 10 and Wildhorse 10 embody Nike’s commitment to providing trail runners with performance, comfort and reliability. They are scheduled for global release in April 2025.
