San Francisco’s HUF and Nike are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their iconic collaboration with the Nike Air Max 1 by releasing three unique colorways throughout the year. These include the original green version, as well as previously unreleased orange and pink versions expected to drop this summer.
HUF founder Keith Hufnagel opened the first HUF store in San Francisco in 2002, which quickly became a lifestyle and skateboarding hub. The brand became a major player in the Nike collaboration scene, especially when collaborations were rare and highly coveted. HUF’s most notable collaboration was the 2004 tie-dye SB Dunk Highs. But HUF’s touch on the Nike Air Max 1, with its simple yet timeless Medium Grey and Green Apple colorway and unique materials, has also made a lasting impression.
Adding to the allure of the HUF x Air Max 1 are the ultra-limited Hyperstrike versions, which feature perforated suede toe box and embroidered heel stitching depicting the San Francisco skyline. These versions became highly sought after by sneaker enthusiasts. Now, with the upcoming release of the pink and orange versions, Nike is looking to reignite that passion among fans.
While details and official images of the 2024 HUF x Air Max 1 remain under wraps, the rumor mill churns, pointing towards a June 22nd release date with a retail price of $160.
