The fashion world was abuzz last January when TOD’S and Automobili Lamborghini announced their collaboration. A year later, the engine is revving with the launch of their first joint venture, an elegant capsule collection that fuses Italian elegance with automotive adrenaline.
Both brands, champions of Italian heritage and innovation, share a DNA of meticulous craftsmanship and bold design. “The Attention to detail, constant research and innovation are key values for both brands,” says Diego Della Valle, CEO of the TOD’S Group. “They truly represent Italian style.”
The collection kicks off with a reimagined version of the iconic TOD’S Gommino loafer. Think chunky, geometric lines, smooth and striped leather that echoes Lamborghini’s aerodynamic curves, and the signature rubber pebbles pumped up in contrasting colours. The golden Automobili Lamborghini bull emblem on the heel adds a touch of horsepower to every step.
For a sportier vibe, the capsule includes low-top sneakers in white and grey leather with pops of colour that echo the Lamborghini logo. These kicks are built for comfort and style, with pebble-studded heels and a touch of Italian racing spirit.
Both styles come in a range of bold colours – blue, sunflower yellow and green – for men and women. They’re available from today, exclusively on a dedicated website to coincide with the launch event in Florence. Prices start at $895 for the gommino and $975 for the sneakers.
This is just the first chapter in the TOD’S x Lamborghini story. Leather goods and apparel drops are on the horizon, promising to further elevate the brand’s luxury positioning and tap into the insatiable appetite for high-end collaborations.
TOD’S has a form in this area. In 2022, they collaborated with Italian bicycle manufacturer Colnago on a limited edition of 70 bicycles. Their TOD’S Factory, a creative playground for unconventional projects, has spawned collaborations with Moncler, Palm Angels, Alessandro Dell’Acqua, Alber Elbaz and even Japanese designer Maiko Kurogouchi.
And last December, TOD’S appointed Bottega Veneta alumnus Matteo Tamburini as its new creative director to oversee both the men’s and women’s lines. His debut collection for TOD’S will be presented during Milan Fashion Week in February this year.
