Just a month after the re-release of the Air Max Sunder, Nike is already dropping a bold new colorway – the Nike Air Max Sunder “Electric Green”.
The “Electric Green” colorway is a daring departure from the more subdued tones often associated with the Air Max Sunder. The shoe’s bright green neoprene construction is eye-catching, to say the least, and is offset by a chunky black zip that runs across the center of the vamp. While the zip may appear to be the primary means of tightening the shoe, a set of traditional laces is cleverly hidden inside, providing a more customizable fit.
One of the standout features of the Nike Air Max Sunder “Electric Green” is its unique design elements. Enormous pull tabs adorn the tongue and heel, while a dimpled mudguard wraps around the entire upper. These distinctive touches add a level of visual interest to the shoe that sets it apart from other sneakers on the market.
The Nike Air Max Sunder “Electric Green” is built on top of the same ridiculously chunky Air midsole that debuted in the original 1999 model. This retro touch is a clever move, as it not only provides a comfortable ride but also adds to the shoe’s nostalgic appeal.
The re-release of the Air Max Sunder has been a long time coming, and Nike has wisely chosen to bring it back just in time for its 25th birthday. While Comme des Garçons did release a limited-edition version three years ago, the 2024 re-release is a near-exact replica of the OG model. This means that fans who missed out on the original release will finally have the chance to get their hands on a pair.
The Nike Air Max Sunder Electric Green is set to launch on August 6 via Nike, the Snkrs app, and select stockists worldwide, with a price tag of $180.
