Australian menswear brand Song for the Mute has once again teamed up with adidas Originals for their fourth collaborative collection featuring the SFTM-004 ADISTAR Cushion sneaker. This latest offering fuses opulent design with contemporary materials, creating a unique blend of past and present aesthetics.
The SFTM-004 ADISTAR Cushion sneaker features a trio of colorways: a regal jade and emerald green, a knightly armor-inspired metallic silver, and a rich combination of deep black and chocolate. These colorways are brought to life through a mix of satin, mesh, shiny TPU, pony hair and suede, resulting in a multi-textured, visually stunning design.
Complementing the ADISTAR cushion is the Country OG, which features warm camel tones, burgundy reminiscent of aged wine, and inky black. The use of patent leather and pony hair on the upper adds a tactile element that elevates the classic silhouette.
Creative director Lyna Ty has infused the accompanying apparel collection with historical influences, reinterpreting modern designs through a nostalgic lens. Standout pieces include raw seam track jackets with satin panels and a co-branded hand-stitched raw edge applique. The collection also introduces a painterly all-over print velvet pant that exudes historical grandeur reimagined for contemporary tastes.
Known for his poignant portrayals of youth culture, photographer Dan Boulton has created a campaign that blends contemporary and historical narratives. Working with creative director and stylist Stephen Mann, Boulton’s images evoke a timeless quality where the unscripted and the surreal coexist.
The SFTM-004 ADISTAR Cushion sneaker and apparel collection will be pre-released online and in-store at the Song for the Mute flagship on September 16, 2024, followed by a global release on September 19, 2024.
