adidas is bringing back its iconic Artillery series with a fresh new spin – the adidas Artillery 24. This latest iteration marks a significant departure from its predecessors, shedding its high-top status for a sleek, low-top design.
One of the most striking aspects of the adidas Artillery 24 is its use of materials. The upper is predominantly leather, with suede panels adding a touch of sophistication near the eyelets and back half of the shoe. These panels extend into open space around the quarter branding, creating a visually appealing contrast that adds depth to the overall design. The ventilated stripes branding, borrowed from the Artillery Lite, makes a welcome return on the lateral and medial sides, while the heel structure features a classic Trefoil logo and embossed ribbing up top.
The colorway of this particular model is a love letter to the 1990s, with an aqua-colored heel that’s perfectly complemented by an off-white midsole and laces. This pre-aged vibe is sure to resonate with fans of retro basketball shoes, and the Artillery 24’s laid-back aesthetic makes it an ideal choice for casual, everyday wear.
adidas has a proven track record of successfully re-releasing retro basketball models as lifestyle-orientated low-tops, with the likes of the Forum Low achieving mainstream popularity. The Artillery 24 has the potential to follow in these footsteps, and it will be interesting to see how adidas chooses to market and promote this new model.
For now, European sneakerheads can get their hands on the adidas Artillery 24, priced at $110, in this colorway starting July 25th, with a US release likely to follow soon.
