As the scariest time of the year approaches, Reebok is teaming up with Universal Products & Experiences to bring back its “Boktober” celebration, a Halloween-themed extravaganza that’s sure to send chills down the spines of sneaker enthusiasts and horror fans alike. This year’s collection is inspired by the classic Universal Monsters and features five iconic Reebok footwear silhouettes reimagined to pay homage to the horror icons, including Dracula, Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankenstein, the Creature from the Black Lagoon and the Wolfman.
Universal Monsters have been a staple of the horror genre for decades, influencing pop culture and captivating audiences with their cinematic universe, one of the first of its kind in Hollywood history. Reebok’s “Boktober” capsule brings a modern, elevated take on each monster’s unique identity, blending grunge aesthetics with a creepy edge that’s sure to appeal to horror movie enthusiasts.
The Universal Monsters x Reebok collection features five unique shoe styles, each presented in custom tombstone packaging that’s sure to add an extra layer of eeriness to the overall experience. The collection includes the Instapump Fury 94 Mid + Creature from the Black Lagoon, a shoe that celebrates the 70th anniversary of Creature from the Black Lagoon and the 30th anniversary of Reebok’s Instapump Fury. This design features a moss and algae print and reptilian-textured nubuck overlays, making it a must-have for fans of the classic horror movie.
Another standout in the collection is the BB 4000 II + Dracula, which features a premium patent leather upper with a color-shifting material that resembles blood, paying tribute to the most famous vampire of all time. Another highlight is the Club C Bulc + The Wolfman, which features a textile upper with exaggerated hairy suede overlays, distressed laces and a blood-stained textile lining that captures the primal nature of the Wolfman.
The Pump TZ + Frankenstein is another shoe that’s sure to turn heads, with glue stain details and decorative stitching throughout to honor the iconic Frankenstein. Metal hardware representing the monster’s neck bolts and a translucent aged rubber outsole add an extra layer of authenticity to the design. Rounding out the collection is the Club C Megacourt + The Bride of Frankenstein, a women’s-only design featuring distressed two-tone laces, decorative stitching throughout and a distressed rubber outsole.
