Amsterdam’s Patta, a renowned sneaker and streetwear retailer, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and it appears they’ll mark the occasion by revisiting a highly sought-after Nike collaboration: the Air Max 1 Chlorophyll.
The news first surfaced in November 2023 via Nike Air Max-focused leaker account @bubblekope. Their report hinted at a Nike Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll/Chlorophyll/Matte Silver” with style code HF1012-300 slated for a fall 2024 release by Patta.
This colorway description closely resembles the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “White/Chlorophyll/Matte Silver” collaboration from 2009, which has become one of the boutique’s most coveted releases. The variation in style code sparked speculation about a potential “2.0” version with subtle tweaks.
Now, a potential glimpse of the 2024 iteration has emerged, courtesy of Patta itself. Patta co-founders Edson Sabajo and Guillaume “Gee” Schmidt recently shared a joint Instagram post featuring Nigerian singer Tems. Interestingly, both Sabajo and Schmidt were sporting a version of the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll,” though it’s unclear if it’s definitively the 2024 version.
However, the same photo showcased Tems holding a Nike shoebox adorned with chlorophyll green and 20th-anniversary text, hinting at the box’s contents.
Throughout its two-decade journey, Patta has established itself as a powerhouse in footwear collaborations. They’ve partnered with major brands like Converse, New Balance, and of course, Nike, producing highly desirable releases. Their most recent Nike collaboration involved the “Running Team” collection, featuring the Air Huarache 20Y24 hybrid sneaker.
This subtle yet strategic teaser strongly suggests that Patta is indeed bringing back their Nike Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll” in some form this year. As of now, the collaboration is expected to launch sometime during fall 2024.
