Nike and Patta have reunited to bring back the coveted Air Max 1 Chlorophyll, marking two decades of Patta’s influence in the sneaker world. This exclusive release celebrates the Dutch brand’s 20th anniversary and 15 years of collaboration with Nike, giving sneaker enthusiasts the chance to own a piece of sneaker history.
The 2024 version of the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Chlorophyll stays true to its 2009 predecessor with only minor updates. The designers have meticulously recreated the iconic silhouette, even sourcing the exact fabric used in the original release. The signature Chlorophyll and Matte Silver colorway remains unchanged, instantly recognizable to Air Max aficionados.
Patta co-founder Guillaume “Gee” Schmidt reflects on the significance of this release: “The original Chlorophyll project was almost like a first album. With this release, we stick to the essence of the shoe, which really stands the test of time.”
While the overall design remains true to the original, there are subtle differences. The modern Air Max 1 features a slightly more rounded shape, and the insoles have been updated with a new graphic inspired by the €20 bill, replacing the 2009 Dutch guilder design. The custom box, adorned with chlorophyll accents, serves as a nod to Patta’s two decades of community impact.

The construction of the sneaker features a mix of materials, with denim making up the mudguard and swoosh, while gray nubuck and canvas make up the quarter and forefoot/heel panels. The chlorophyll color, inspired by Patta’s original green logo, accents key elements of the shoe.
