The iconic villain, The Joker, is making a surprise appearance in the world of footwear, gracing the design of an upcoming Nike Dunk Low. While there haven’t been any official DC Comics x Nike Dunk collaborations to date, the shoe’s color scheme pays undeniable homage to the infamous supervillain.
Previous purple and green Nike Dunk releases have already sparked comparisons to The Joker, especially the unreleased 2009 Joker Nike SB Dunk sample that remains a coveted grail amongst sneaker enthusiasts. This latest offering, however, arguably takes the crown as the most fitting “Joker” Dunk yet.
The shoe boasts a regal purple canvas base, reminiscent of The Joker’s signature makeup, contrasted by crisp white suede overlays that mimic the character’s clown face paint. The iconic green Nike Swoosh adds a pop of color, while the multicolored laces inject a touch of playful chaos, perfectly embodying The Joker’s mischievous spirit. Completing the look is a vintage-styled, slightly yellowed midsole and a purple outsole, mirroring the villain’s color palette.
