Back in the early 2000s, Nike took a cautious approach to releasing classic silhouettes like the Air Force 1 and Dunk, as consumers were more focused on innovation and technology in their sneakers. The Air Force 1 Low “Linen” was produced in limited quantities, which only added to its allure and rarity. The scarcity of pairs directly contributed to the shoe’s increasing value over time.
The “Linen” colorway is a masterclass in subtle sophistication. The creamy, off-white hue that adorns the leather upper is reminiscent of the finest linen fabric, giving the shoe a luxurious and understated appeal. The colorway has been so popular that it has inspired countless imitations and homages over the years.
In December 2016, Nike partnered with renowned retailer Kith to re-release the Air Force 1 Low “Linen” exclusively at the grand opening of their Miami flagship store. This release gave a new generation of sneaker enthusiasts the opportunity to own a piece of footwear history. However, since then, the Air Force 1 Low “Linen” has remained elusive.
Now, as part of Nike Sportswear’s “Cult Classics” series, the Air Force 1 Low “Linen” is officially confirmed to release on June 13th, 2024, via the SNKRS app and select retailers globally. This release marks a significant moment for the sneaker community, as it brings back one of the most coveted and iconic colorways in the history of the Air Force 1.
