Kith and ASICS join forces once again to create the innovative GEL-Kayano 12.1. This latest offering from the renowned footwear brands combines the best of two iconic silhouettes, promising a unique blend of style and performance.
The GEL-Kayano 12.1 masterfully fuses the upper of the classic KAYANO 12 with the outsole of the NIMBUS 17, resulting in a shoe that pays homage to ASICS’ rich heritage while pushing the boundaries of modern design. Ronnie Fieg, the creative force behind Kith, has outdone himself with this collaboration, showcasing his deep understanding of sneaker culture and his ability to reimagine beloved classics.
At the heart of this new model is a lightweight mesh upper, adorned with ASICS‘ signature Tiger stripes on the lateral side. The design team has paid meticulous attention to detail, incorporating special elements that sneakerheads will appreciate. The tongues feature Japanese kanji characters, with the left shoe displaying “Kayano” in honor of the legendary designer Toshikazu Kayano, and the right shoe showcasing “Friend,” a nod to Kith’s well-known “Kith and Kin” motto.
