The HOKA Tecton X 3 is redefining trail running performance with its groundbreaking design. This latest offering from HOKA incorporates cutting-edge technology, including dual carbon plates and a specialized foam midsole, to deliver unparalleled speed and stability on diverse terrains.
Jim Walmsley, the renowned ultrarunner, played a pivotal role in developing the Tecton X 3. His input during extensive testing and his record-breaking UTMB victory in 2023 showcased the shoe’s exceptional capabilities. Colin Ingram, HOKA’s Vice President of Global Product, stated, “We drew on the lessons of one of the sport’s most technical and varied trails to create our most innovative and fastest trail running shoe to date.“
The shoe’s name, inspired by tectonic plates, reflects its unique structure. Two carbon fiber plates, now enhanced with fins, provide increased support and control. The midsole features a dual-layer PEBA foam construction, balancing cushioning with responsiveness for optimal performance on technical terrain.
HOKA has also improved the upper design, incorporating a mesh strap that functions as a gaiter to keep debris out. The ghillie lace system and lightweight materials ensure a secure fit for intense trail runs. Grip has been enhanced with redesigned 4 mm lugs and a Vibram Megagrip outsole, offering superior traction across various surfaces.
Developed in the French Alps, HOKA’s birthplace, the HOKA Tecton X 3 represents the brand’s commitment to innovation while honoring its roots. This high-performance trail shoe is now available for purchase at $250 through HOKA.com and authorized retailers worldwide.
