The recent Jordan Retro Summer Preview unveiled on SNKRS Live offered a glimpse into a sizzling calendar of Jordan releases slated for May and June. Among the expected drops was a first look at the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Gorge Green,” a women’s exclusive sneaker that stands out for its unique blend of elegance and summertime flair.
This iteration of the Air Jordan 1 Low maintains a familiar construction and color-blocking scheme. However, the shoe departs from the usual route by incorporating a striking “Gorge Green” hue alongside classic Varsity Red and Black accents. The result is a colorway that evokes a luxurious, Gucci-inspired aesthetic. This combination isn’t entirely new to the Air Jordan family, having graced both the Air Jordan 1 itself and its close cousin, the Dunk. Yet, the “Gorge Green” edition injects a refined touch, setting it apart from the other women’s Air Jordan 1s showcased in the seasonal preview.
The “Gorge Green” takes center stage, gracing the overlays on the forefoot, collar, and heel. Varsity Red accents add a vibrant pop, appearing on the Swoosh, laces, and Jumpman logo on the tongue. Black grounds the entire composition, providing a base on the mudguard, eyestay, and heel counter. The midsole maintains a clean white finish, while the outsole mirrors the rich “Gorge Green” shade. This colorway is a surefire head-turner, offering a sophisticated yet eye-catching option for the summer months.
Construction-wise, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Gorge Green” stays true to its heritage. The upper is crafted from premium tumbled leather, ensuring both durability and a touch of luxury. The nylon tongue provides breathability, while the classic encapsulated Air cushioning in the heel delivers comfort with every step.
Scheduled to release on June 12th, 2024, exclusively in women’s sizing, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Gorge Green” carries a retail price tag of $140, on Nike.com.
