Schiaparelli’s Spring 2025 collection, set to debut at Paris Fashion Week, features a stunning pair of surrealist toe mules that are already generating buzz among fashion enthusiasts.
On Wednesday, Schiaparelli took to social media to offer a tantalizing glimpse of the new footwear. The teaser featured a two-tone version of what appears to be the brand’s signature trompe l’oeil toe mules. The eye-catching shoes feature a gradient colorway of pale green and blue, adorned with Schiaparelli’s signature golden toenails.
The brand’s artistic director, Daniel Roseberry, continues to push boundaries with his innovative designs. Under his guidance, Schiaparelli has reimagined classic silhouettes with a surrealist twist, staying true to the brand’s heritage while appealing to modern sensibilities.
Commenting on the new design, a Schiaparelli spokesperson said, “These mules represent the perfect blend of artistry and wearability. We’re thrilled to present them as part of our Spring 2025 collection.“
In addition to the gradient mules, Schiaparelli also teased a set of slip-on mules featuring their signature surrealist toe motif. These leather styles were previewed in both metallic silver and gold colorways, hinting at the brand’s commitment to bold, statement footwear.
Schiaparelli’s recent footwear innovations have not been limited to mules. In April, the brand made headlines with the launch of its first-ever sneakers. The high-top canvas styles, which feature the house’s signature golden trompe l’oeil brass toes, represent Roseberry’s vision of merging couture and streetwear.
Explaining the significance of the sneaker design, Roseberry said, “It’s the fantasy of couture made for the street. This sneaker is particularly meaningful to me because it symbolizes who I am: an American in Paris. It embodies the meeting of two worlds: American comfort and the rigor of French chic.“
Since taking the helm as artistic director in 2019, Roseberry has successfully reintroduced fashion to the whimsical and avant-garde spirit of Elsa Schiaparelli. The brand’s ongoing influence of surrealism pays homage to its founder’s collaborations with artists such as Salvador Dalí and Jean Cocteau in the 1930s and 1940s.
